Currant - It is a small red, black, blue or white berry that grows on bushes and is primarily used for making jams and jellies. It is also eaten fresh. For example:

Would you like a strawberry jam or a multi currant jam?

I would like to have a black currant pastry.

 

Current - It has two meanings. It refers to something that is ongoing or happening in present. It also refers to a movement of electricity, water, air, etc. in a particular direction. For example:

What is your current salary?
