I have a lot of confusion while using since and for. Please help me.Answered On :2013-09-01 , Asked By : mohnish.srivastava

The words 'Since' and 'For' are often confused by English learners.

'Since' is used to talk about a length of time beginning at a specified time in the past.

For eg. ‘I have lived in Delhi since 2008’

‘He has worked in this company since March’

‘For’ is used to talk about the duration of time.

For eg. ‘I have lived in Delhi for five years’

‘He has worked in this company for six months’
